Match Report
St Andrew's College 1st XI vs  Grey High School
On: Friday, 05 Apr 2019
Venue: at Home

The College side had a tough encounter against a well-organised and determined Grey 1st Team. Although the home side were competitive in the first 10 minutes of the match, the Grey side were clinical in their passing, and maintained possession far better then College. Defensively, College had to be highly disciplined, and worked exceptionally hard to keep the dangerous Grey strikers from scoring. Jono Shamwana, in goal, made a number of superb saves, but continuous pressure, and with the College side finding it difficult to keep the ball, Grey scored 2 quick goals to deservedly go ahead in the match. The second half saw similar patterns, with Grey continuing to dominate both territory and possession. A further goal by Grey seemed to seal the match, but College began to show more composure through Nick Barlow's hard-running. In addition, James Mullins and Nic Brotherton established some good passing moves to mount a few attacks. One of these resulted in a goal, but it was insufficient, as the Grey side finished strongly, to convincingly win 4-1.
