Cricket Assembly Report, Thursday 19th January 2023

Congratulations to the 1st XI Cricket Squad on their successful pre-season performances during the Makhanda Schools' Cricket Festival. It was a team effort that created momentum for the year ahead.

Highlighted performances:

• Matthew Beamish 311 runs including 2 x 100s at an average of 77 and 14 wickets, including a spell of 6/16
• Matthew Poole 333 runs including 2 x 100s at an average of 66
• Jake Coventry 215 runs including a 100 at an average of 53.75
• Oliver Snart 13 wickets, including a spell of 5/39
• Stuart Carr produced a match-winning spell of 4/10 on the final day.

Also, a very well done to all our new cricketers for their energy and commitment throughout their activities during their Cricket Camp.

There were many coaches involved in preparing our cricketers for the start of the year, thanks so much to all involved, the collaborative effort with new voices made an impact. Thank you. A special thanks to Mr. Wilkinson and his team for the impressive facilities throughout the week and to Graeme and Kingswood College for their professional support and care during the festival. Thanks to the Highlander team, our matrons, The Transport team, and the Capitol Caterers’ staff, these events are not possible without your support.
