Michaelhouse asked St Andrew’s College to bat first who posted a competitive total of 246/8 in their 50 overs. Mitchell Coventry was superb up front for his 67, and thereafter Sibusiso Mxube (66) and Murray Wilson (68 not out) compiled an entertaining 99 run partnership steering College into a useful position at lunch.

Michaelhouse made a steady start to their innings, but it was their Captain Murray Baker who gave their run chase impetuous. His 80 runs came off just 69 balls, attacking the College spinners, and setting up a run a ball finish for the long Michaelhouse batting lineup to pursue.

Roman Van Zyl was excellent during his spell of 2/29 in 10 overs.

Michaelhouse chased the runs down with 2 balls to spare and earned a well-deserved win by 2 wickets.
